Board of Directors 2025-2026
Victoria Edwards | Chair

My name is Victoria Edwards. I joined the BIASL board in 2022 and am presently the President. I joined the board because I think BIASL is a fun community of survivors of brain injury and their support systems. I work as a personal injury lawyer at Siskinds the Law Firm where I help injured plaintiffs recover funding for treatment and other losses from insurance companies. Many of my clients have suffered brain injuries, which has driven home how important organizations like BIASL are to survivors. It is great to have a supportive community of people who understand the complexities of brain injuries to connect with. In my spare time, I enjoy playing ultimate frisbee and volleyball around town.

Kendra Prasad | Vice-Chair

I started with the BIASL as a youth volunteer many years ago, helping out with fundraising events and social leisure activities. I joined the board in 2022 and became VP in 2023. I have grown up with the BIASL and have been grateful to be part of its continued evolution! I am currently a medical student at Schulich School of Medicine at Western University. I enjoy reading and cooking!

Deepa Rawat | Treasurer

I joined the board in 2021 but I have been volunteering since 2009 helping with gift wrapping. From 2013 – 2017, I helped in the Brain Injury office and completed our bookkeeping. I currently work in bookkeeping and am an art of living meditation teacher.

Jessica Chrapko | Secretary

I started with BIASL in 2024, after I completed an optional placement with ABI survivors in 2015 at school and developed a passion for helping folks living with brain injuries. I am a speech-language pathologist who provides services to all ages, all diagnoses. I am locally-grown, having been born and raised in Sarnia!
Natasha Gladwish | Board Member
Blair Douglas | Board Member

I joined BIASL in 2024 in order to advocate for survivors. I worked for a USA based Fortune 300 chemical company for 36 years, and am now retired. I am a proud member of Professional Engineers Ontario. I studied at Western University and attained my Masters of Engineering Science. As a fun fact, I used to have my pilot’s license, and I have been skydiving!
Ron Graham | Board Member

I joined the BIASL board in 2024. I wanted to join the board because my wife is a brain injury survivor. I work as a Power Engineer at Invenergy. For a fun fact, I like wood working!
Autumn Pereira | Board Member

I just recently joined the Board of Directors in Fall of 2025. When I was younger I suffered from a severe concussion that left me unable to go to work or school for almost 5 months. During this time, I realized that no one I talked to really knew much about concussions or brain injuries in general – this sparked my want to learn more about brain injuries and help those who have had one. Since then, it has been a dream to get involved with BIASL and work with those who have survived a brain injury. I recently graduated from the Occupational and Physiotherapy program at Lambton College – it is my dream to continue a career in either long term care or working with brain injury survivors. I have a rescue beagle that we adopted from a testing laboratory in the states. She has come so far since we’ve adopted her and is really adapting to life outside of a lab!

Jake Whitney | Board Member

I recently joined the BIASL board this year, in 2025, to make connections with other survivors and assist those in the community who need support. Brain Injury rehabilitation is a passion of mine. I was a Canadian Armed Forces Veteran of 3 years before medical release, and I have worked as a Rehabilitation Therapist for 9 years. Fun Fact: I went to school with a certain famous Canadian singer!
Chantal Prasad | Board Advisor

I joined the board in 2007 and am a past president of BIASL. I am an occupational therapist for DMARehability working with clients in motor vehicle collisions. I started working with Brain Injured individuals for my work, and was asked to join the organization by a social worker, Carolyn Sim. I’ve travelled to all 6 continents!
